The Pakistan Foundation for Inspiration and Recognition of Science and Technology (PakFirst) is a nonprofit scientific society devoted to advancing the scientific understanding of the mechanisms underlying thought and intelligent behavior and their embodiment in machines. PakFirst also aims to increase public understanding of Science and Technology, improve the teaching and training of practitioners, and provide guidance for research planners and donors concerning the importance and potential of current developments of Science and Technology and future directions.

One of the most important activities of PakFirst is the recognition of scientific and technical excellence. PakFirst is pleased to present annually significant and prestigious awards that recognize and encourage outstanding research and technological innovations in the field of Science and Technology.

Major PakFirst activities include organizing and sponsoring conferences, symposia, and workshops, publishing magazine for all members, publishing books, proceedings, and reports, and awarding grants, scholarships, and other honors.

PakFirst promotes communication between academia, government laboratories, and industry for the purpose of sharing research and development findings over a broad range of technologically relevant topics. Our symposia and journals provide an important forum for the dissemination of information in area of Modern Sciences and technology-enabling a critical gateway for the rapid insertion of scientific breakthroughs into manufacturing realities.

PakFirst is organized into 5 technical divisions and 3 technical groups that encompass a range of established as well as emerging science and technology areas. There are also 5 local-area chapters that promote communication and networking for professionals and students within a geographical region. PakFirst is comprised of approximately 1,000 members  and welcomes all member and non-member scientists, technologists, students, and educators to participate in its national and regional events.

The PakFirst vitality is derived from the unselfish commitment of a large number of talented and dedicated men & women. These people serve diligently as volunteers in all facets of PakFirst governance and operation. They are backed by our exceptional and professional PakFirst staff.
